ReplyDeleteWell you use full zoom of course, and it's one of the rare times that manual settings can be of real use as overexposure is common for any camera. Keep the aperture fully open, on a small sensor camera there's seldom any reason to close it up. For the nicest result use ISO 100, and experiment with shutter speed. Something like 1/500th of a second may do it.
ReplyDeleteOr if you prefer the dead easy approach, set it to full green automatic, enable the digital zoom and use every bit of it, and the moon will be large enough for the P510 to get a fix and a great result easily.
Using a tripod and the timer helps if you can't hold it steady enough, pity Nikon require you to set the timer for each shot you take though.
